Ashley Buchly’s story of how Piranha Fitness Studio and Power Training are changing her life.
I joined Piranha Fitness Studio in November 2011. After going to Zumba and Piloxing classes for a year, I was getting bored, and I was not as motivated as I used to be. I needed something different… drastically different. A close friend of mine had been doing CrossFit in town, and I was very interested in it. However, I was also extremely intimidated because it was mostly big, strong men running around and throwing obscene amounts of weight in the air. Then the light switched on, and I remembered Power Training at Piranha. That was exactly what I needed! The majority of people I would be working out with were women, and all the trainers were women. Since I already knew so many people at Piranha, I decided to take the plunge and upgrade my membership to include Power Training.
My first day of Power Training was January 11, 2013, and I immediately realized that I had made the best decision for myself. I was dying when I left the studio that night, but I was so thankful that I finally found something that I knew was going to work! April 5th marked my 12th week in Power Training, and I have never felt better about my body or self-image! I learned that you might have to try different fitness roads before finding one that you can make your own. I found that I am crazy about Power Training, and I LOVE to lift. Now I am the one throwing around weight that I never thought possible! In 12 weeks I have lost 9.5 inches, with 6 of those inches coming off my hips! I am so thankful for my Piranha and Power Training family. They motivate and support me more than anyone else ever has. I’m not to my goal yet, but I am getting there!
