Piranha Fitness Studio's annual BINGO challenge is becoming quite the sought-after prize for their studio members. The goal is to blackout a bingo board over the course of 6 weeks for a chance to win the GLAMshoot. Bingo board squares include attending specific classes, tracking nutrition, parking in the furthest parking spot, doing something active on a Sunday, or even bringing a friend with you to workout. There were several people who completed all of the tasks that were required, but only one special client wins our grand prize of a GLAMshoot. Read below about our newest BINGO winner, Brett Baxter, and her fitness journey.
Name: Brett Baxter
Occupation: 4th grade teacher and Varsity girls’ soccer coach for Caldwell ISD
1. What brought you to Piranha Fitness Studio in the first place?
I was looking for somewhere close to my house that has group work outs that I could afford. I also was looking for the workout times to be able to fit into my schedule. Piranha has all of that and more! There are so many great group classes to choose from throughout the day it made Piranha and easy choice of where to work out.
2. What’s your favorite type of workout?
It’s hard to pick just one favorite. I loved Power Training when I won the Unlimited Package for a month. That’s the type of workout I enjoy the most but I can’t afford that each month. Luckily, there are still some awesome classes in the package I do have. I really enjoy Cardio Dance with Emily. It’s a way to just have fun and sweat a ton! I also really enjoy weighted abs-so-glute.
3. Where do you find your motivation, your dive and your will power?
The group style of classes, the trainers, and the competitions throughout the year. The group style of classes and trainers help me push myself to keep going. When I would go to the gym by myself I would never finish sets or just end early, but with a group class and trainers that’s not an option. When the trainers are excited and seem happy to be at Piranha that always helps to make me want to be there too. The competitions (like BINGO) help a ton. I have a very competitive personality so it helps me have a goal in mind I want to reach. I want to prove it to myself, and of course others, that I can reach that goal.
4. What is the best health and fitness secret you’ve been taught?
The best advice I have been taught is to push and challenge yourself. You will be surprised what you can accomplish. Don’t worry about how much weight someone else has or how many reps they are doing. Focus on you! Try doing one more rep than you did yesterday or adding 5 more pounds of weight. Results will only happen if you step outside of your comfort zone.
5. Share your first time experience wearing Lululemon workout clothes.
I have always wished I had clothes from Lululemon! They were so helpful in picking out my outfit. I found a pair of leggings I absolutely love!!! I put them on as soon as I left the store and wore them literally all weekend, both Saturday and Sunday. They are by far the most comfortable leggings I own!
6. What’s the best advice you can give to those reading about health and fitness?
First, have a good balance with what you eat. Don’t pick a diet you know you can’t stick to or won’t be happy eating. I am all about enjoying what you eat but with moderation and a balance of healthy foods. Secondly, the more you work out the more you need to eat, so don’t starve yourself. You need to eat more to build muscle. Lastly, scales lie to you. Don’t focus on what you weight, but instead focus on how you look.
