Sunday Funday

Everybody loves the weekend, especially a nice, easy Sunday.  You sleep in, curl up on the couch, and spend some quality time with your family before the next hectic week begins.  Right now, it might be a “lazy day” for you and your family.  Let’s change that and make it a “fun day” instead.

An active lifestyle is fun.  It keeps you moving and full of energy from the moment you wake up (or drink your second cup of coffee), to the moment you go to bed.  The weekend is crucial to maintain all of the progress you made the week before.  Do not toss out all of the burpees and squats you did for a day of not moving except to get a treat from the fridge.  Rest is important to any fitness regimen, but an active rest is the most beneficial to truly accomplish your goals and become the best version of yourself.

The key to a healthy lifestyle is to continue your journey through the weekend.  Health isn’t a "Monday-Friday, 9-5" kind of commitment.  Health is a total transformation of your mind, body, and soul kind of commitment.  That is not saying you have to run a half marathon every weekend and get 40,000 steps on your FitBit.  Moreover, you should strive to live an active lifestyle, no matter what day of the week it is.

Most people really enjoy spending time with their family and close friends on Sunday’s, but they do not want their workout to interfere with that time.  Here are some ideas that incorporate family time and a workout into the same activity:

·Take a hike

·Go for a walk

·Golfing

·Play tennis

·Swim

·Go for a bike ride

·Do a Piranha OnDemand workout

·Rollerblading
